Built by a former pro who runs a 200+ player club

Run Your Tryout. Run Your Season. Run Your Facility. One Platform.

Tryouts, evaluations and recruiting, team management, facility management, payments, and parent communication — everything you're running across separate systems today, in one.

Tryout season is two weeks of selling. Game Mode tracks every family through it — who's committed, who's on the fence, who hasn't answered — and sends the follow-ups that get them to yes, so nothing gets lost while you're running the field.

The Game Mode dashboard for a youth sports club: sidebar navigation for messages, seasons, tryouts, programs, schedules, training and teams; a player search bar with quick actions to start a tryout, message families or add a player; summary tiles for tasks to do, unread messages, player count and payments; a today's-tasks panel with setup steps; and a list of upcoming programs.

Why this exists

Built for the club, not the building.

The strongest platforms in this space are facility software — memberships, point of sale, court booking — with team features bolted on. That works if you own a building. If you run a club, the things you need most are the things they treat as a line item: the tryout, the evaluations, and the two to four weeks of selling that fill your rosters. Game Mode is built the other way around. Your season and your tryout come first, and the facility fits around them.

01Recruiting

Tryout season is a two-week sales sprint. Run it like one.

Every family who tries out is somewhere in your pipeline — committed, on the fence, invited and not answering, or gone without a word. Game Mode tracks all of them in one place and sends the follow-ups that move them forward, so the ones who were almost in don't slip out while you're running the field.

The Decisions tab of a tryout workspace, showing the pipeline as counts across the top — total tried out, invited, registered, no response, and needs attention — a control for when to mark a family as no-response, a button to remind returning players who have not answered, and player rows grouped by age band with status chips like Registered and Committed–Unpaid alongside per-player invite and message buttons.
02Tryouts

Put the clipboards away

Coaches evaluate and film players from their phones while the tryout is happening, and scores land in the system live. When the last group finishes, your results are already done.

03Teams

Turn tryout results into rosters

Build teams directly from evaluation results instead of rebuilding them by hand in a spreadsheet. Offers, acceptances, and final rosters all live in the same place the scoring did.

04Registration & payments

Take registrations and payments without chasing anyone

Families register and pay online with payment plans built in, and money goes straight to your own Stripe account under your own name. You keep your merchant account, your statements, and your relationship with your bank.

05Programs & training

Run camps, lessons, and training from the same platform

Sell and schedule camps, clinics, private lessons and cage rentals, and give players access to training video and analysis in the mobile app. Families book and pay on pages under your name.

A club's parent booking page, branded with the club's own logo, asking what to book — cage rentals or private lessons — as the first of four steps: type, service, time, confirm.

Pricing

One published price. No sales call required.

You connect your own Stripe account, so payments go directly to you, your organization’s name appears on the parent’s card statement, and we never hold your money.

Your Stripe account

Parents pay your organization directly. You keep your merchant account, your statements, and your relationship with your bank.

Two ways to pay

Card is 3.5% + $0.90 per payment: Stripe’s 2.9% + $0.30 plus Game Mode’s 0.6% + $0.60. Bank transfer is 1.5% + $0.90, with Stripe’s bank fee included. On a $1,500 season fee that is about $23 by bank instead of $53 by card.

Pass it on or absorb it

Choose whether parents see the processing fee at checkout or you build it into your pricing. Most organizations build it in.

Questions

Before you ask

Can I try it before I pay?

Yes. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial. You add a card to start, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time before then and you pay nothing. Texting turns on when your paid plan begins.

Do I have to switch in the middle of a season?

No. Most organizations start with a tryout — that is the piece with the clearest start and end. Your current season keeps running wherever it is until you are ready to move it.

How long does setup take?

A first tryout can be live the same day. A full season with registrations, payment plans and rosters usually takes a few days of back and forth. Growth and Pro plans include help moving your existing data across.

Do I need a separate tool for tryout evaluations?

No. Tryouts, scoring, video and team assignment are part of every plan, including the $99 one. There is no per-player evaluation fee.

Who holds the money?

You do. Payments go to your own Stripe account, your organization’s name appears on the parent’s card statement, and we never take custody of your funds. We collect our fee as a small share of each transaction.

What if my coaches are not tech people?

Most coaches never need more than their phone. They get an invite, download the app, and score tryouts, evaluate players and message their team from there. Your admins handle setup on the web, so coaches only see what they need.

Is there a contract?

No. Month to month, cancel whenever. No setup fee.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You can export your players, rosters, registrations and payment history at any time while your account is active, and for 30 days after your subscription ends. It is your data.

What sports does this work for?

Baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, hockey, football — any sport that runs tryouts and a season. You build your own evaluation categories and criteria, so scoring matches how your sport is actually assessed rather than a template someone else wrote.

Can parents pay by ACH bank transfer instead of card?

Yes, and it is significantly cheaper for them. Bank transfer is 1.5% + $0.90 against 3.5% + $0.90 for card. On a $1,500 season fee that is about $23 instead of $53.

Who built this

Game Mode was built by an actual club owner, not a software company.

Justin Klipp played professionally, then spent ten years building and running a 200+ player organization in Texas — the tryouts, the rosters, the payment plans, the parent emails at eleven at night. He was paying for three separate platforms that each did one part of the job and none of them talked to each other. Evaluations in one, registrations and facility in another, training in a third, with team communication and recruiting held together by a separate group chat and spreadsheets.

He looked hard at switching to a single platform and couldn’t find one that fit a club instead of a building. So he built the exact thing he wanted.

Every part of Game Mode exists because it solved a real problem in a real season — not because it looked good on a feature list. Tryout season used to mean three weeks of twelve-hour days — three main tryouts, eight make-ups, and every roster decision tracked by hand. The first year he ran it on Game Mode, that came down to a fraction of the time and almost none of the stress.

That club still runs on it, and it made his whole staff’s job easier.
